A classical itinerary to discover the most famous sites in Bavaria

Day 1: the German Alps
Arrive to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, one of the most attractive holiday resorts in the Bavarian Alps. Dinner and overnight.
 
Day 2: meet King Ludwig II
After breakfast drive to Linderhof to visit the magnificent royal villa (admission not included), then onto Oberammergau to stroll through the lovely village with painted houses and time free for lunch. Afternoon drive along the „Romantic Road“ to Augsburg. City sightseeing tour of the 2000 years old town. Dinner and overnight.
 
Day 3: the Romantic Road
After crossing the Danube at Donauwörth stop at the Harburg fortress. Drive forth to Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl, both towns with surprisingly well preserved city wall. Time free for lunch. Afternoon visit Rothenburg, the so-called „Pearl of the Middle-Age“. After city tour drive soutwards across Francony and through Ingolstadt to Munich. Dinner and overnight.
 
Day 4: the „Bavarian Sea“
Drive to Lake Chiem, the largest in Bavaria. Ferry crossing to the island Herrenchiemsee to visit the „New Palace“ the magnificent residence that King Ludwig II built after the pattern of Versailles. Lunch free. Afternoon drive back to Munich for an orientation city tour. Dinner at traditional beer hall. Overnight.
 
Day 5: a fairy-tale castle
Early morning drive to Neuschwanstein Palace, the most famous of the Royal Castles. After the guided visit of the interior, drive back home.
